If you suspect that you have a roof leak, you’re probably worried about the damage it can cause. Roof leaks can be frustrating and scary, and there are a few things you can do to check and see if it’s time to hire a roofer to come to check it out.
Protect your assets
Before you reach for your phone, it’s important to first keep damage at a minimum. If the leak is dripping onto furniture, make sure to move any furniture or items that otherwise would get damaged from the continuous drip of water or liquid. Grab a bucket or something else to catch the water. And be sure to dry up any water that has already leaked to prevent safety hazards. Make sure you alert others of this hazard by putting up a sign.
Find the source
Before you call a roofer, it’s prudent to check that the roof is the cause of the problem. Other options could be plumbing, HVAC, a simple spill, etc. Identify the exact source of the leak by process of elimination, and when you are confident it is definitely a roof leak, give us a call.
